NCSoft just announced that they will be closing the doors to Auto Assault on September 1st, 2007, citing financial losses as the reason for the closure. It’s always sad to see an MMO closes, especially one that tried to be different but failed to execute fully. No one at NCSoft has been laid off due to this. There’s no plan at this time for ArenaNet to buy back AA from NCSoft (NCSoft owns the IP). See also a short interview with NCSoft.

After period of rumors and leaks, it’s official. Wowhead’s been sold for over 1 million. It doesn’t say so in the announcement, but other reports that were leaked (see Tech Soapbox) before do state that. Since the announcement confirms the sale, no reason to doubt the figure. More interestingly, it’s bought by Affinity Media, the parent company of many fan sites, as well as IGE.
