This is the beginning of the end. I’ve finally given in and started playing Minecraft. All thanks to Chris Ogden buying me a copy for Christmas, and Troy Kristoffer setting up the server on our network.
As I expected, I’m quickly sucked into it, and can only spend my waking moments thinking about what I’m going to do the next time I play. I’m a huge sandbox game player and love to build. I suppose there are worse things to be obsessed about.
Asheron’s Call 2 has returned! We have opened up a new server for anyone who has an active Asheron’s Call subscription to play Asheron’s Call 2 for free! Although we would have loved to revisit some of our old characters with you, we were not able to bring over any of your old characters. We do, however, present this new Asheron’s Call 2 server, Dawnsong, to all active Asheron’s Call players with a paid subscription or who purchase an ACTD retail key and subscribe.
Star Wars: The Old Republic went free-to-play today. To play or not to play is the question. I did play a bit in a free weekend and enjoyed the production value of the game. I’ll most likely download it again and give it a F2P try.
Words can’t describe how excited I’m about Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. I was amongst many who were disappointed with the game. I played FF XI for many years and I had high hopes for FF XIV. This trailer certainly reignited the sense of wonder in me again. Susan Calloway’s angelic voice of the FF XIV theme, Answers, provided the perfect background and emotional tucks to the epic imagery.
With all the electronic tools we have available for D&D tabletop sessions these days (such as the excellent iPlay4e), one might not need paper tracking anymore. Although, I found myself wanting a paper trail of all the encounters my characters have came across. After a campaign, it’s nice to see a stack of “battle records” and reminisce in the glorious battles fought. Therefore, I made the attached paper tracker. It’s two sheets fitted on letter-size paper. Both PDF and Excel versions are available, in case you want to make further tweaks.
This weekend, I decided to try out The Burning Crusade, for various reasons. Most importantly, I wanted to experience their expansion pack free trial process, see if we can learn something from it. It’s less than stellar so far, here’s what I had to go through (read: not pleasant).
I am currently on a promotional cross-country car trip for The Lord of the Rings Online. I am actually on vacation on this trip (since I am not on Marketing), but I am doing quite a bit to help out. It’s been fun so far, follow our progress on TwoGuysAndaLOTROCar.com!
Our music video, “Linger”, for the Xfire Summer WoW Movie Contest has been chosen as a finalist! Download it here. You would need an Xfire account and the Xfire client in order to download, but it’s free!
Voting has begun! Please go to Studio Amicus’s website for all the links. Thanks to everyone who have given us feedback and helped in making the video!
