Finally back from my hiatus on the blog. I am settling into my new life at sunny California and have been busier than ever. What did I sign myself up?
It’s been very challenging so far and I am learning a lot as I go. It’s going to be a while before I bulid up my street creds. Hopefully, I will have some time to keep the blog up-to-date with interesting industry news again.

This would be huge for ARG (Alternate Reality Games), and a plethora of other applications. Problem is, what about those people who can’t wear contact lenses? And, I shudder when I think about how much the contact solutions will cost! And the amount of care you have to take to take care of them. But someday, this might be as common as contact lenses today and all of these concerns go away
One can hope!

A neat story about how physical therapists at one hospital is using the Wii to engage the patients into doing physical therapy. Just goes to show everyone that, all coins have two sides. Instead of blaming video games for violence in the young and what not, people should instead take responsibility and ask themselves, what they can do to make the most out of the medium, and minimize the negative impact.
Dr. Randy Pausch, a huge proponent for game entertainment for education, gave his “Last Lecture” recently. He’s been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and only have three to six months of good health left. I have never heard of him before personally (there’s much in this world I don’t know). But after watching his special on Good Morning America, which highlighted some of his speech and some additional comments, there’s no doubt in my mind that our industry will lose a great deal when he’s gone. I am inspired and admire his courage in such situation. After seeing this, I guarantee you, your big problems won’t seem that big anymore.
You can view the whole lecture on Google. A transcript and other information are available on his university website. You can also read more about him on his Wikipedia entry.

Due to the many incidents recently about school shootings, there are talks around various committees that we need more money for better school safety measures. Is that money well-spent?

I have been pretty busy lately, involve in two separate machinema projects, one for World of Warcraft and one for The Matrix Online. Coupled that and with WoW’s end game contents and real life, I am pretty booked. Though I will try to get back into writing as soon as I am done with the machinema projects. Stay tuned for more information on them!
