Due to the many incidents recently about school shootings, there are talks around various committees that we need more money for better school safety measures. Is that money well-spent?
That seems to me to be totally reactory. These are kids, they are not criminal masterminds. They had social issues. They had home issues. Rather than trying to better educate our educators to pay attention to these problems, we want to install more metal detectors in schools.
We need to invest in people, the educators and the students, not more equipment to find guns. We need to help these kids to get on the right path, not trying to catch them bringing a gun in. The society has failed our next generation if we let that happen. How many school teachers actually care about our youth? Not only their academic health, but the whole person as well?
